LAUREN ZELT
Founder
Lauren A. Zelt established Zelt Communications in 2019. She previously was a Managing Director at FP1 Strategies, a Washington D.C.-based public affairs and political consulting firm. She specializes in earned media and campaign management. Zelt works with clients to design strategy ensuring that they receive targeted media opportunities tailored to their specific goals, and manages national and international campaigns on their behalf.
Zelt has more than a decade of experience working in media and political communications. She served as deputy communications director and press secretary for U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte. During the 2012 election cycle, Zelt worked as director of media affairs for Romney for President following her tenure as a television liaison at the Republican National Committee. Before entering politics, Zelt worked at Fox News as a segment producer and guest booker for America’s Newsroom with Bill Hemmer and Martha MacCallum, America’s News HQ and America’s Election HQ political specials. She has also held positions at CBS News and at KDKA-TV, located in her hometown of Pittsburgh, PA.
Zelt is a member of the American Enterprise Institute Leadership Network and is a National Review Institute Regional Fellow. She has appeared on Fox News, Fox Business, MSNBC and Newsmax TV, and has been featured in The Weekly Standard, The Federalist, The Hill, Roll Call, Politico, National Journal and the New Hampshire Union Leader, among other outlets. Following her career as a professional ballet dancer with Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre and Pacific Northwest Ballet, Zelt graduated cum laude from Georgetown University and remains active with the university’s Alumni Admissions Program. She is also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
